Moipone

A reflective piece

The Lord my reflection

My True reflection

My real image

My real being

My Core and Centre

My innermost parts

Not the shedding skin

Nor the inners or sheen

Not my stature or even nature

Your presence is my place

My place of Me

My place of being Me

My place of seeing Me

My place of finding Me

Your presence – My Place

Every time, I come - You Show

Every time I come to you

You Show Up

You Show Off

With Open hands – You Show Up

With the Right Tools – You Show Up

With a full basket – You Show Up

Never empty – You always Show up

You asked Me: What is it that you have in your hands?

You slain the animal to cover me in Adam

You gave Egypt to Babylon, for my ransom

You gave Ethiopia and Seba for my release

Surely, You Show Up for Me

You Show Up and You Show Off

So when you and your Executive team sat down

When you Decided, Proclaimed and Fashioned me

You actually, crafted You, in Me

Now, all I see in You - Is Me

The Me that is You

The Me, that you created

In Your Image

In Your Likeness

Ka Tshobotsi ya hao,

Hi xifaniso xa wena

You reflected yourself to the world – through me

How is it that when I come to You

I find myself

I discover my make up

I remember our work travels

Because you carried me when you were fashioning the world

I remember that first reflection of light

It amazed me

I could not remember anything more beautiful

It was like opening my eyes for the first time

I remember how quickly the darkness escaped when light came

I remember witnessing the waters, hills and everything else being grateful

The plants started opening up and took in what the light brought in

The warmth, the comfort, the assurance, the beauty

The very reason to bloom, to excel and Be

This light seemed to accentuate the significance of everything else

I had never seen anything more beautiful, more graceful, more purposeful

I remember then feeling a great sense of familiarity to this light

In your soft character and without even saying any word

You reminded me that this light emanates from you

All that is good and perfect, comes from you

Scientists identify reflective nature with light

Little do they know that it is your light

O mpone Moipone!
